posted 11-07-2000 01:44 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- River Level - 9,500 cfs. am peaking to 17,500 cfs. p.m. Weekends 15,800 cfs. Weather: Low's in the 20's - highs 30-40's. Some clouds. Current weather: www. weather.com/weather/us/zips/86036.html.
Currently we are still pre-spawn with fish staying in deeper water. I feel the fish are late in spawing this year due to the unusual summer low flows. Bigger fish want bigger flys and that fly needs to pass "right in front" of their noses. Fish big, fish deep and experiment with different stripping and speeds. Best Fly's - "Ambassador's Don King", brown and green maribou wooley buggers, black & green weighted skunks. For drys, light cahills with a size 22 griffiths nat 12" below 7x tippett.
Spin Fisherman are having great success with 1/4oz. black & orange jigs in main channels.
