Capt. Dave Hanson's Fishbuster Charters,SW FL Gulf [Post#: 112 ] Reply to this post

Captain Dave Hanson of Fishbuster Charters fished 15 miles westward of Wiggins Pass in the north Naples Gulf and at the artificial reefs off Bonita Beach this week, with light tackle and live shrimp. Our clients caught limit after limit of keeper mangrove snapper to 21 1/4 inches, along with occasional lane snapper and yellowtail snapper. They also caught keeper gag grouper to 22 1/4 inches, short gags and red grouper (released), keeper triggerfish, keeper sheepshead to 18 inches, hogfish to 16 inches, jolthead porgies to 14 inches, and blue runner. The blue runner are a sign that kingfish are likely to be around soon. Also spotted, but not biting, were two large bonito. Our clients this week included Earl Slusser, the Lee Wompler party, the Gene Ricci party, the Celeste Enfante party, and the Lee Bialkowski party. Find info. and recent photos at
