Naples & Bonita Gulf, SW FL:Capt. Dave Fishbuster [Post#: 197 ] Reply to this post

Captain Dave Hanson of Fishbuster Charters fished offshore from New Pass in Naples and at the artificial reefs off Bonita Beach, as well as in central Estero Bay this week, with live shrimp on light spinning tackle. Our clients caught keeper mangrove snapper, spadefish, catch-and-release gag and red grouper to 18 inches, Spanish mackerel to 25 inches, kingfish to 28 inches, permit, blue runners, barracuda, and jack cravalle to 7 pounds. Clients included the following parties: Norm Milley, Bruce Fergusson, Lenny Klim, Andrew Combs, and Jack Roach. We had plenty of excitement out there this week: First, a huge barracuda nearly made a meal out of the Captain's chest while pursuing a blue runner being reeled up. Thankfully, the cuda's lip caught on the boat's gunnel, sparing the Captain! Then, when we started the engine, we apparently spooked an approximate 30 lb. tarpon: He also jumped, missing the side of the boat by inches! Find complete info. and recent-catch photos at
