Redfish are HOT in Rockport [Post#: 267 ] Reply to this post

Finally, the winds, weather, tides, water, bait fish, finger mullets, and last but not least the REDFISH all cooperated at the same time. Today redfishing was really easy. Even with all the weekend boat traffic the fish were hungry. We caught 9 nice reds ranging from 24 1/2" to 27 1/2". All the fish were caught before 1:00pm. We also caught a 25 lb. cow nose ray and one galftop. We used finger mullet, (which have finally showed up in our bay system), menhaden shad, and cut perch, it really didn't matter what we threw out they liked it. At the dock I saw lots of trout brought in also. "Good catching to you" Capt. Charlie Newton
