Capt. Dave Hanson's Fishbuster Charters SW FL [Post#: 78 ] Reply to this post

Captain Dave Hanson of Fishbuster charters has run only a handful of scheduled charters over the past two weeks, due to adverse weather conditions and rough seas. He fished in the Estero Bay, as well as offshore from Naples, and at May Reef off Bonita Beach, using live shrimp and light spinning tackle. Clients Dale Del Sasso and son Tony, fished the bay in very shallow water, and landed snook, keeper mangrove snapper, and keeper sheepshead. Clients Buzz, Nancy, and Andy Sellers, of Ohio, fished off Naples, and caught two keeper gag grouper at 22 inches each, ten short gags (released), three sheepshead to 17 inches, keeper mangrove snapper, keeper triggerfish (along with many short triggers, released), grunts, and red grouper, all in about 30 feet. Client Ed O'Brien, with sons Conner, Eric & Kyle, braved rough seas at May Reef to catch black drum to 5 lbs., keeper sheepshead, and keeper mangrove snapper. Check out recent photos at
