Big grouper returning:FL. Capt. Dave's Fishbuster [Post#: 214 ] Reply to this post

Captain Dave Hanson of Fishbuster Charters fished offshore from New Pass in Naples, and at May Reef off Bonita Beach this week, using light and heavy tackle with live shrimp, pinfish, grunts, and blue runners. Our clients caught Spanish mackerel and kingfish to 25 inches, keeper mangrove snapper, triggerfish, hogfish to 19 inches, and keeper gag grouper to 33 inches. They also hooked, but lost a few big jewfish. Nice to see the big grouper returning after several months of shorts, due to cold water temperatures.
